By providing sophisticated marketing tools, store designs and a plan to implement them, Purina’s Premier Services Program® has partnered with our retail stores and remodeled and built new dealerships for today’s market.

Market Demographics

A comprehensive retail-oriented demographics report is prepared from a national database based on your individual market or region, determined by specific crossroads, zip code(s) or address. Information such as population, income, housing, consumer spending indexes, socio-economic benchmarks, USDA animal data and horse numbers are provided.

Program Guide

A building design guide illustrating the retail concept via photos, specifications and details is provided. This guide is beneficial to all involved with your project from beginning to end. Thorough and comprehensive specifications are provided for both interior and exterior options along with an array of photographs that show the many and varied details of projects from renovations to new ground-up buildings.

Implementation Manual

The implementation manual will provide pertinent details and sources for all phases of your project. It will be your “Reference” manual for recommendations and suggestions for setting your store with shopping carts, peg hooks, retail display props and all the store supplies needed for your retail store.

22-Week Countdown

This guide will guide you step-by-step through the process from beginning planning and due diligence phase through the soft opening of your store. When used in conjunction with the Program Guide and Implementation Manual, the guide completes a Retail Resource Library for you to assist in your overall project development.

Store Design

The store design plans provide you with essential tools for communicating the look and feel of your new store to your target market. These plans map out the most efficient use of space, from site to exterior look to interior presentation. (The plans provided allow for one revision – additional revisions can be provided for a nominal fee.)


Store design components include:

  • Retail utilization of site (provided as needed for new ground-up projects
  • Preliminary retail floor plan
  • Conceptual building elevation plan
  • Intermediate retail floor plan/product categories
  • Conceptual exterior retail color rendering
  • Final retail floor plan

Product Assortment Library

An assortment of related departments which includes product lists and planograms are provided. This useful tool provides necessary information and illustrations to help you through the process of choosing the right assortment for your market. (Choice of a binder or CD is available.) The PAL categories you choose will be illustrated in both the intermediate retail floor plan and final retail floor plan and will act as a helpful guide to setting product.

Interior Signage

Components will be provided to you as part of the program. (Additional components can be purchased if so desired at a substantial savings.)

  • Power aisle banners
  • Checkout and Department signs
  • End cap sign kits (include wood sign board, inserts and spiral numerals)
  • Feed display pedestal

While Hunter Green is our primary color for the power aisle banners and end cap sign kits, blue or red can also be used at a nominal additional cost.

Exterior Signage

The following components are provided as part of our program:

  • 6’ x 16’ or 4?’ x 12’ wall sign
  • Category signs (showing product lines you carry)

Factory Direct Fixture Purchasing Program

An aggressive discount has been negotiated for you with Madix Store Fixtures. You will be provided a detailed fixture quote and review on your final plan. Madix will work directly with you on your ship and installation dates. An experienced fixture installation expert will come to your store and work with your team on installing your new fixtures.

Merchandising Services

A professional visual merchandiser will be available to come to your store shortly after your fixtures have been installed and inventory is on-hand. Our merchandiser will teach the art and skills of merchandising to your staff and help prepare your store for your opening day.

Retail Training Institute

A comprehensive four-day retail computer simulation workshop presented by experts in the retailing field is provided to two persons from your organization. Subjects covered include inventory management, pricing strategies, staffing, advertising, merchandising and sales-expense-margin budgets (attendees responsible for their travel expense only).
